The best time to visit Thessaloniki is spring and autumn, with mild weather and pleasant walks along the seafront; summer can be hot and humid. The area right around the station is more commercial and less scenic, so it's worth heading towards Aristotelous and the Upper Town for a more atmospheric experience.
